A month ago, my cousin Piero moved to live with us, here in Foley, Alabama. He was one of the head engineers for what was going to be the largest hospital in the world in Panama, La Ciudad Hospitalaria. But the pandemic brought the entire project to a halt. As a result, he found himself bankrupted - for the first time in his life having to beg for help.
Today during lunch, he shared that he had always thought of the US as a perfect country. But now he realizes that the USA is not perfect. It has lots of problems and big ones. And yet...
...it was here in the USA where he came to know Christ and discovered the hope that never fails. Isn't that glorious!!
John Quincy, the 6th US President wrote, “Is it not that, in the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior? That it forms a leading event in the progress of the Gospel dispensation? Is it not that the Declaration of Independence first organized the social compact on the foundation of the Redeemer’s mission upon earth? That it laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity?”
Today we are celebrating the 4th of July! An event that undoubtedly is connected to the birth Christ!! This is why Christmas and the 4th of July are the most celebrated holidays in America.
Well, Why don't you sing with me "HAPPY DAYS"?
